Aims
and objectives
- Increase
the awareness and promote the development and dissemination
of palliative care at scientific, clinical and social levels
- Promote
the implementation of existing knowledge, train those who
at any level are involved with the care of patients with
incurable and advanced disease and promote study and research
- Support
and give patronage to scientific and educational events
promoting the dissemination and development of palliative
care
- Promote
and sponsor publications or periodicals concerning palliative
care
- Bring
together those who study and practise the disciplines involved
in the care of patients with advanced disease (doctors,
nurses, social workers, psychologists,
volunteers and others)
- Unify
national palliative care organisations and establish an
international network for the exchange of information and
expertise
- Address
the ethical problems associated with the care of terminally
ill patients
Buts
et objectifs
- Améliorer
les connaissances en soins palliatifs et promouvoir leur
diffusion aux niveaux scientifique, clinique et social
- Promouvoir
la mise en pratique des connaissances acquises en soins
palliatifs ainsi que la formation continue de toute personne,
quelque soit sa qualification, qui accompagne les malades
atteints d'une maladie grave à une phase avancée.
Stimuler l'étude et la recherche
- Soutenir
les événements scientifiques et pédagogiques
qui favorisent la diffusion et le développement des
soins palliatifs en leur accordant son patronage
- Promouvoir
et soutenir toute publication ou tout périodique
concernant les soins palliatifs
- Réunir
tous les professionnels (médecins, infirmiers, assistants
sociaux, psychologues) et les bénévoles qui
étudient et mettent en pratique les soins et l'accompagnement
des malades en fin de vie
- Réunir
les mouvements nationaux de soins palliatifs et créer
un réseau international pour l'échange des
pratiques et des connaissances
- Approfondir
les problèmes éthiques liés à
la prise en charge des malades arrivés au stade avancé
d'une maladie grave
