“COMMITTED
TO PEOPLE” |

We
would like to invite you to the 11th Congress of the European
Association for Palliative Care, to be held in Vienna 7th
- 10th May 2009.
Vienna has been a melting-pot of different cultures and people,
situated in the centre of Europe and a communication point
between East and West. We want to use this position and discuss
the different views and developments of medical, social, ethical,
political, economical and other areas, but with the focus
of care on the patient at the centre of palliative care.
The last congresses of the European Association for Palliative
Care in Aachen and Budapest have shown the international reputation
of the EAPC which already reach far beyond Europe.
The Congress in Vienna will build up on this reputation and
expand it even further. The International Association for
Hospice and Palliative Care (IAHPC), Help the Hospices, ESMO,
IPSO and other Pan National Associations will be invited to
join in the preparations of the Congress, confirming again
this congress being the worldwide conference on palliative
care.
Results from the 'Budapest Commitments', a two-year campaign
on advocacy with the national associations, will be presented
in Vienna, as a symbol for a new area in joint venture in
Palliative Care for patients, relatives and carers.
We hope to see you in Vienna !
