A
grant from and support of the programme, Europe against
Cancer, by the European Community encouraged the EAPC
to organise a workshop to study the feasibility of a training
programme in palliative care for physicians in Europe,
held in Brussels on 20–21 March 1993. Thirty-two
experts from the 12 EC member states and Sweden collaborated
on a report, and the recommendations were published and
distributed by the EAPC under the aegis of the Europe
against Cancer programme.
