Some
numbers

invited speakers contributed to the success of the scientific
programme as Chairs, coordinators and speakers in the 3 Plenary
sessions, 10 themed sessions and the 2 Satellite Workshops
with a total of 49 presentations.

Abstracts had been submitted. Each abstract was reviewed
by 3 reviewers, who were blind for the authors and institutions
and rated the abstracts as described in the abstract submission
procedures. The scientific committee balanced the differences
in reviewers’ mean scores and selected abstracts for
plenary, new research data and poster viewing sessions. 48
Abstracts were with drawn and 47 were rejected. The selected
abstracts (both oral and poster) were published in “Palliative

The
4 best abstracts were presented as free communications
in plenary.

oral presentations were delivered in the new research
data sessions which were managed by the chairs to dedicate
time to both present and discuss the papers in a productive
spirit.
