Mission
Statement
My experience in these years of attending
as board member the EAPC activities can be an useful
addition for continuing to serve our association moving
into e new presidential mandate.
EAPC should be a driving force in helping the development
of palliative care throughout Europe and the world.
The mission of EAPC should promote the professional
forces of palliative care while keeping a strong commitment
to the original inspiration, the culture and the revolutionary
message of the hospice movement including the role of
non-profit organizations and volunteers.
I
would like to contribute to the efforts of EAPC especially
in keeping and strengthening the bonds between EAPC
and national palliative care association and in being
instrumental for the many national European association,
backing up their needs according to the diversity of
each regional palliative care program, and also by promoting
organization and clinical standards at the European
level.
The
Spectrum of EAPC activities should continue to encompass
the basic needs of newborn programs, the definition
of educational curricula as far as the widening of the
scientific basis of palliative medicine and palliative
care, also sustaining the recognition of palliative
care at the academic level and lobbying political decisions
about health care, education and research resource allocation
that favours the palliative care field.
